NOV EXHIBITION 26 – 29 November |
2010 CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION ‘Richly Rural’ CLAY BARN 26 – 29 November A four day exhibition, all welcome.

|
Louise Darby - potter & photographer - is host and exhibitor, Clay Barn her studio home. She is showing her finely thrown stoneware and porcelain, which have developed over her thirty years in the profession, always with an eye for detail, the unexpected and humour. Much inspiration is drawn obliquely from her photography, which she exhibits alongside her ceramics. |
|
Martin Andrews - glass blower - inspired by the natural world. He designs and hand blows lead crystal glass, the patterns created by melting coloured glass into the different layers of the molten glass at 1050°C and gradually building up the design. He uses new and traditional techniques; each item is made individually with no two being the same - a unique piece of signed art, we are pleased that he joins us again. |
|
Bill Yardley - farmer/etcher - is always a popular exhibitor at this venue. His closely observed, meticulously detailed etchings are inspired by farm and wild life that he works with and enjoys daily on his farm, 200 acres of heavy Warwickshire land, growing cereals and tending a flock of 350 breeding ewes. Bill has been awarded an honorary Master of Arts degree by Warwick University, and his work is in private collections country wide.

Shelly Perkins - illustrator – Shelly draws from life, then uses digital manipulation techniques to polish and enhance her original drawn and painted work, emphasising the play on light and shadow, developing a very individual and decorative form of illustrative work, characterized by quirks and unexpected juxtapositions, resulting in a style which is both highly creative and refreshingly original. |

Sharon McSwiney - jeweller - returns to Clay Barn with her latest collection of character-full brass and silver jewellery, and her decorative metal plaques and panels. Each plaque section is individually created with unique effects on copper and brass with highlights of silver. Heat and chemical colouration, applied wires, etching, punched and pierced patterns embellish each piece, with increasingly delicate effects.

Jo Naden - sculptor - her forms are usually modelled in clay then carved back when leather-hard, before being cast into bronze. She works mainly to commission for both private individuals and public spaces. She finds that it is a journey of discovery; objective research and reflective intuition combine in a process of gathering and distilling. We get a feel of her skills in a selection of limited edition pieces, shown here for the first time.
